I love love love being home with my lil one. I wish I could be a stay at home mom, but I know that it's just not possible. The next best career to have when you have small children is teaching. You can't beat the schedule, that's for sure. Jason and I work 187 days a year and get 3 months off, plus weekends and holidays. Between the 2 of us (and because we are on different tracks) Allie gets to have a parent home with her for 6 months out or the year. I have to admit that this is the best off track time I've had off yet. Simply because Allie is older and we get to do all the fun stuff that is strictly summer....which is by far my favorite season. Always has been. Some of the best parts of my childhood were spent outside getting wet, eating popsicles and hanging out with the neighborhood kids. I want Allie to have a childhood like that...
So we got started with the going outside and getting wet part! I started out just taking her in the backyard every day in the little baby pool since I had ordered my maternity bathing suit but it hadn't come in yet. She just loved getting in the pool and we would splash eachother and play all afternoon while Daddy worked on the yard.

Then I discovered one day, quite by accident that my daughter loves the sprinklers! It all happened one day when we were playing outside in the early evening and the sprinklers came on while we were in the grass. I hurried to get us out of the way and looked down at her - she was squealing with sheer delight. Try as I might to get her to play in the patio where it was dry she just kept walking to the wet grass squealing and laughing. So after a baby pool session a few days ago, I told Daddy to turn on the sprinklers and lets see what she does. I have never seen that little girl have so much fun. I wish these pictures had turned out better but she wouldn't stop for a second to take a picture. That seems to be the case though lately, she used to be such a great model, now she won't sit still for even one shot! oh well... Isn't my water baby a cutie. You're jealous of those legs, aren't you?

Once my suit came in, we decided to take advantage to the ameneties (sp?) the East Highland Ranch has to offer, most importantly the pools. They have a baby wading pool that is only 1 1/2 feet deep throughout. We went out and got her a lil baby boat, which she hated...but when we took her out, she could stand in the water! We had a lot of fun! This morning I took her by myself and just enjoyed her. Babies just get to be so much fun as they grow...just when you think it cant get any better...

One part of my summer has been a bit of a drag: the AC went out in my car last week. I took it in to get it fixed and they want just $200 short of what the car is worth. Scrap that! So... time for a new car! Exciting for me because I've never had a BRAND new car...and Jason? He's never had a USED but almost new car. Go figure. The hard part is we had an issue with the pink slip and had to order a new one...which take 2 - 4 weeks to arrive in the mail! UGH! We need the pink slip to trade my car in... so I'm stuck at home with the little one all day for 2 - 4 weeks. If we have to go anywhere, we go really early, like before 9 am so that Allie doesn't have to suffer in a hot car seat. That gives me time to get my scrapbooking done. I want to get Allie's baby book done before I have to start a new one. I'm almost done. I'm working on her 10 months page...then 1st Easter, 11 months , Mothers day and 1st birthday... and done! Then I have start on baby number 2! BTW my next appt is on WEDNESDAY! Will we finally get to find out whether it's a boy or a girl??!?!?! I doubt it... Stay tuned!
