Spring…

…is upon us and I wanted to get a head start on my Spring decorating. Well, actually, I’ve NEVER decorated for Spring before and after looking at all of these craft sites I want to. So last Friday night I saw these adorable Spring blocks tutorial on Its a Girl Thing.

I just HAD to make one of my very own. I headed down to Joann (my shopping partner, Allie in tow) to buy Mod Podge, Distress Ink and the wood letters…I had every thing else on hand.

I decided to use wood that was pre painted white instead of plain wood and then staining it. I thought white would look more ‘springy’.  And this way I could skip the whole staining part too.  I followed her tutorial almost exactly and even tried to put my embellishments in a similar design. One thing I would change is using the Distress Ink if you are using white wood because I think it looks a little like I smeared poop on the paper (I know that sounds horrible, right?).  Distress Ink is something you would use if the letters were wood colored.  However, mine doesn’t look that bad so Iwill still display them. Here’s how mine turned out:

Now, I just don’t know where to put them. Here are 3 places I could put them. I need your help! Where oh where do they look best???

A.) on this accent table in the living room. This is where they currently are…Picture 540

B.) on the mantle (I hate my mantle, it’s too short and painted like the wall. I never know what to do with it..ideas?)Picture 535

C.) on top of the TV stand…with different color candle sticks of course, like maybe… lavender?Picture 537

Help!
