March 10, 2007

Close your eyes.

Pretend it's still March.

Okay. Open.

March 10th was our 3rd wedding anniversary. And for once we've escaped an anniversary without adding another child to the family. Hopefully, we can keep it that way :)
IF there is another addition to the family it will be a DOG, but that's a story for another day...

Anyway,
Just like last year, we followed the traditional/modern rules for gift giving. It was too much fun!

This year was glass or leather. Easy for me.

Not so easy for Jason...or so he thought. He ended up doing just fine!

I wanted to make it extra fun by creating a little scavenger hunt for Jason to find his gift. Wanna see it?
**cheese alert**
The rhymes are lame, but it IS on purpose. :) You might get a chuckle or two! Here we go:When Jason arrived home he saw this as he entered the house through the garage. I was in the house cooking his favorite dinner so I didn't see his initial reaction until clue number 2.

Here is Clue #1. I hid it in his shoe, just below where the note was posted...
Then on to...

Which read...

He had to look under his placemat...

And it read...

And led him to the laundry room...

And that read...
So he looked there and found...
Yes, that is my 'Stitch n' Bitch' knitting book. Best knitting manual. EVER. But look beyond that and you'll see Clue #5. It reads...

He marches straight over and digs in this box instead of looking under it. I finally had to tell him.

That one read...

Don't know what an Ove Glove is? See below :)
Still don't know? It's an oven mitt, silly!
Oh, you knew that already.
okay.

I HAD to put this one in.
My husband is like most boys, he thinks potty humor is sooooo funny.

This one took him to the freezer...

...And this one took him to the refrigerator...

I don't know why this picture is sideways.
But this is his favorite dessert.
Peanut Butter Bars. yum!

Here is what that clue read...
I could hardly believe it when my sweet hubby looked at me seriously and said:
'Where is that? The couch?'

Ummmm, no, Jason.
It's this:
His 'leather' wallet with a Visa giftcard inside was under the covers. I forgot to take a picture of that.
The whole thing was so much fun, from making up the rhymes (my sister in law helped me with 3 of them, I thought of all the rest myself) to seeing his big ol' cheese grin as he marched from place to place. He LOVED it!
My lame rhymes brought quite a few laughs too. In fact, he still pokes fun from time to time.

This is what was waiting for me after we ate dinner:
What was in it?
a 'glass' bottle of champagne.
from a winery we saw in Napa when we got married.
Look at the year. :)
If you didn't know, that's the year we were married.
...and a wine preserving kit.

This is his favorite dinner that I was working on when he arrived home.
Tex-Mex Turkey salad.
His only anniversary request. :)

I love traditions. Big or small.
