The Living Desert

In early January, before we went back to work we went to the Living Desert with much of Jasons family. We love going to the Living Desert in Palm Desert because it is SO much cheaper than the regular zoo, and MUCH less crowded. You dont have to stand in lines or wait through huge crowds to get your peek. The people are so few and far between that you always get a front row seat! We got to feed a giraffe (I didn't get a picture of that because I was holding one of the kids, Jason was holding the other), ride a camel, see lots of other desert creatures and play in the many play areas. It was a pretty cold day, even raining when we were on the way home, but still fun.
The camel riding was the weirdest thing. Ever sat on a camel, or tried to sit on its hump?!? Talk about uncomfortable!! And trying to hold onto and not squish a 2 and 3 year old, yeesh! It was fun, we'll chalk it up to an experience, but I think I'll pass next time a camel ride is offered to me. The guys told me I had to stay on its hump, but by the time we got around the path, I had slid off. lol. Oh well, the dang camel had a small hump, okay?!?!

As many times as we've been there, we never knew about this play ground that I got a few picures of before my camera's batteries died.
