Just a Walk in the Park

So we like parks...if you read my blog or know my family, this is no secret. One of our favorite blogs to visit and picnic is Prospect Park. Its a special park to us mainly because when Jason and I first started dating he took me there. I had never been there before and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. When standing on one of the many lookout points of the valley below, where you can see all of Redlands, Highland and San Bernardino, I casually mentioned to him that this was a picture perfect proposal spot. I didn't mean it as a suggestion to him, it was just the first thing that came to mind. Fast forward a year (yeah, we moved pretty quickly), and we were at Prospect Park and had just finished eating Subway on one the benches in the exact same lookout point we were at the year before, where I had made that comment. But we had company, people that were picnicking there too, so Jason suggested we take a walk. Not too long in to our walk did he get down on his knee and popped the question. Ever since then we have returned to 'our spot' many times over the years. We had our family photos done there this year, and many many picnics with our kids. Its even become tradition to have a Memorial Day picnic there as we have done it every year since Ryan was born.

On Jason's last day before going back to work (I got one extra week-I go back tomorrow), we decided to go to Subway and picnic in our favorite place. We had to put our blanket on the 'stage' of the Carriage House because the grass was so wet. After we ate, we put our things in the car and took a walk. They have lots of trails, look out points and even a bamboo forest. I loved playing with the light through the trees.  I don't have a fabulous camera, but I think with the right lighting, a pretty decent picture can be taken.

Playing with my camera's timer settings

Wanted to get a closer up one

Using the trash can and the self timer again. We don't have very many pictures of us two.
