Memorial day was just a few days in on our 6 week family vacation. We have always celebrated with a picnic to Prospect park but this year, there was a wedding being held there. Sad face. So we detoured to our second favorite spot at a local elementary school with lots of shade and a cool playground.
For some reason, Allie was not feeling that well after we ate. I tried to cheer her up by letting her take pictures with my camera. She took two and then was over it. She was in a pretty sour mood until we got home. I checked her temp and it was 102. No wonder, poor baby!
This was as good of a picture as she would let me get.
We even used the timer at one point. It only made her happy for a few moments though. She kept saying she wanted to go home and go to bed.
Ryan was happy though. He was thrilled even more because his cousins decided to join us. He loves them.
After time at the playground, we headed to Dairy Queen for a treat. Allie didn't finish hers, which is not like her. Then we headed back to Prospect Park to just walk the trails. We planned to stay away from the wedding. Jason's sister and mom were with us and they had never really walked around there before and they wanted to see it.
There is a hidden tree there that is so cool. It is twisted! All the kids (Jason included) just had to climb it.
And the palm tree was huge too. Look how little Ryan is next to it! How a tree starts growing like that, I have no idea.
Jason is just one of the kids! ha!
Aside from Allie feeling under the weather, we had a fun day. Once we got home and discovered her fever, I gave her some Tylenol and the fever never came back. It was odd but I was glad. Maybe it was just too much heat, who knows.
We Love the 100th Day of School!
