Well, its been a little over a week since my last post and Allie is moving into the walking stage pretty fast. I think by the end of this week she'll be off and running. I can hardly believe it because I didnt think babies walked until around 1 year old. Then I found out a lot of the babies on my husbands side were walking around 8 months old! 8 months!!?? But its no exxegeration...I saw the home videos. Anyway, 9 1/2 months and Allie is walking. The other crazy thing is she completly skipped crawling! I can barely even get her to balance on her hands and knees for more than a few seconds before she falls flat on her belly. I asked the doctor and he said that some babies skip crawling altogether and that its totally normal. H e said especially if they are good rollers...and let me tell you, Allie can roll around a room like its nobody's buisness. No one can get from one end of the room to the other like she can! haha! Its too bad though because I really really really wanted her to crawl, cause its just so darn cute...but oh well, Im not complaining!
This walking buisness all started with our last post. That day I put together this little pushable/ridable lion that she recieved for Christmas because I read that its really good for babies learning how to walk. She hated it. She cried anytime it moved and frantically looked for my hands to hold on to so she could walk. The following Thursday, my mother in law and I were passing her between us where she'd take a few steps then fall into our arms...then 2 seperate times she took 5 steps!! Jason didnt see it, so he kept saying he didnt believe it. (ha!)
The next day I tried the lion toy again after her bath, before I put her jammies on, and she loved it. At first a little unsure so she just stood there bouncing and singing. Then she just took off! Jason and I were astounded how fast that happened! Then Saturday, she played with the lion all day and then sunday...yesterday...she would let go and walk a few steps to us! Oh I was so excited. Then in the afternoon, she had wheeled the lion to our bedroom, let go and walked to me. I placed her on her feet facing the doorway and she took off! She walked clear out of our bedroom (which is a pretty decent size) and halfway down the hall, following her Daddy! So that made it official, cause I dont even know how many steps that was...30? 40? Who cares? She's officially walking! They werent kidding when they said they just take off one day...cause thats exactly what she did! lol...
Anyway, I'll leave you with some pictures of Friday night, the 1st time she pushed her lion toy...(that Auntie Ali got her for Xmas!)

Yay! How exciting, I like that she was too busy to learn to crawl, just skipped it all together and took off walking! That is TOO cute!
