Surgery and A Hospital Stay

Well, I'm back.
Where have I been you ask?
In the hospital. Yup, in the hospital. Ever since I came home from the hospital after having Ryan everything has been going horribly wrong. First with Ryan's jaundice (thank goodness that's over with and he's fine.), then me getting sick. The worst part of all because as it turns out I was seriously not okay by any means. After 6 straight days of fevers and doctors telling me over and over again that the nasty infection in my c section incision was not the cause...it turns out if was. And because of the incompetence of my doctors I required surgery and a 5 day stay in the hospital.
Leaving off where I started last post, I had a horrible weekend. My fevers got higher and higher and took longer to break, if they even did, whenever I took Motrin. They constantly came back. On Monday, it was so bad that I had Jason take Allie to his mom's for the day because I didn't think I could take care of both babies (Ryan mostly sleeps all day). As I lay on the couch drifting in and out of conciousness I get a phone call from my doctor.
Come in to the office now, your culture came back as a staph infection.
A staph infection. My worst fears confirmed (for this situation anyway). People die from that, especially if it's in their bloodstream. Which I was I was convinced of since there seemed to be so many other things wrong with me.
I called my mom and Jason bawling my eyes out. Jason immediately left work and my mom came to get me and Ryan. Jason met us at the office. Turns out that this infection took a whole other road than normally predicted for as small as it started. I guess I stunned the doctors. Tests were performed and it was decided that I needed immediate surgery that day to drain the wound. I was put to sleep.
I woke up feeling 100 times better than I had when I went under...until my headache came back. Ended up getting rid of that with my first (and only) taste of Vicodin. I had catscans done on my head and abdomen and they just kept finding more things wrong with me. I stayed on IV antibiotics from Monday to yesterday, when I finally got to go home to my babies. ( I hadn't seen them my entire stay because I didn't want them to visit me in the place that I am certain gave me the staph infection in the first place.) I also later found out through blood tests, the infection was just beginning to enter my bloodstream, which is fatal most of the time. We caught it just in time. Whew.
Anyhow, long story short...I still have a long road ahead of me, but I will be fine. I am loaded up with a heavy arsenal of antibiotics and I'm home. That's what makes it all okay...I have my babies back.
