I can't WAIT until Saturday! Why? Because my sweet girl begins her journey in dance. Her mama was a dancer throughout her entire childhood and loved every second of it. I started with tap at age 5 and tried pretty much every style from jazz to ballet to hip hop all the way until age 22 with jazz being my number one love. I even included Dance as my concentration in my Bachelors Degree, just in case I wanted to teach it someday. While my dancing days are behind me, I always knew if I had a daughter I would put her in dance. Lately she has been asking me on a near daily basis to sign her up for classes, so I decided once the New Year was upon us and all the Christmas bills have been paid, we would sign her up. The time is now! On Saturday, we headed down to my old dance studio and got her all signed up. The poor girl was so excited...until I went to put her shoes on her. I don't know if it was nerves or what, but suddenly she didn't want to go any more. I assured her that we were just going to check it out, but not to actually dance yet. She was still so nervous, but she went with me. Once we got there, we signed her up, and went upstairs to check out the classes. Luckly the class she is going to be in was in session during that time. She took one look at all the little girls and was back to her excited self. I know she is going to be nervous about having a man for a teacher (the owner of the studio), but hopefully now that she has seen him and how much the other little girls adore him, it will be easier. We watched the classes going on for about 15 minutes. Her class is made for 3 and 4 years olds and when May comes and she turns 5, she will be in Kinder- theatre. Kinder -theatre is such a brilliant idea to me because it allows the children to find their 'niche', where they want to concentrate. Kinder-theatre is a little bit of everything: ballet, vocal, tap, theatre. I love that. When she is 6, she will choose what she wants to pursue and we enroll her in that. Is it bad that I secretly hope she chooses the ballet route? I don't want to influence her in anyway, I want her to do what she loves...and if she doesn't love dance at all (which I doubt), then that's okay too.
After signing up and checking out classes, we went shopping for her clothes! And once we got home we tried them on, of course!

| Excuse the tutu falling off of her, I have to take it in a bit at the waist. |

| Look at that foot! No sickling at all! Could she be a natural? :) |
