For Valentines 2012, we got a 3 day weekend. Pretty sweet, huh? We decided to celebrate on Monday the 13th since I was off work (Jason is off track, he has the whole month off...lucky!). Over the weekend, the kids made Valentine bags like I had my Kinders make. I told them on Sunday night to lay them out on the coffee table so mommy and daddy could fill them with Valentine treats. The red wrapped items on the left are presents for me from Jason (they ended up being shelves I have had my eye on for a while now) and the red wrapped presents are Jason's presents from me (a laser leveler/stud finder and some lights he wanted for outside). The flowers are from Jason to me (and the kids).
Allie got a Tinkerbell doll and some candy. She loved it.
Ry got a bubble helicopter gun. He had to put his rain boats, jacket and go straight outside in the F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G cold to try it out. He spilled the bubbles in his gun twice and gave up. Eh, I should have chose the Legos I originally had in my basket for him. Oh well. He'll grow into it.
Later, Jason and I headed to his mom's house so the kids could spend the afternoon with her and we could have a little Valentines date. We really wanted to go to our favorite little cafe, but it seats outdoor and it was drizzling on and off that day. We settled on Mi Cocina...Jason's favorite restuarant, then to see a movie. We had a really nice time.
The next day (the 14th), I had to go to work, but later that night I made them a fancy little 'heart' dinner:
-grilled cheese
-strawberries
-hot dog with cheese on the arrows
-and M&M's for dessert (on the face)
They were so surprised :)
