Fruit Salad...yummy, yummy!

Through out the month of February, Jason was off track from school (lucky!). I do actually enjoy him being out of school even when I am not for many reasons: I don't have to get the kids ready and take them to their grandmother's house, I can get to work early (for teachers this really sets the tone for the day, I think), the daily chores are done before I even get home, dinner is already made most days by the time I get home, and he brings the kids to visit me (with lunch) in my classroom.  Every now and then they do little surprises for me and it's so so so cute! And they are little surprises that are thought up by the kids, nothing fancy but just as wonderful to me.

One day, I came home for work and the kids told me they had a surprise to go with my dinner and they had made it themselves (with a little help from their Daddy).  It turned out to be a yummy fruit salad! The word is the kids and Daddy were out shopping at Trader Joes and picked all the fruits to make the salad.  Daddy let the kids wash, cut and stir the fruit with supervision from him. Oh and he added the *secret* ingredient :) And my, it was delish! Over the weekend, I had them recreate the scene, just so I could get pictures :) And maybe to find out what the secret ingredient was: orange juice squeezed by hand from fresh oranges :)) It seriously made it that much better!
