4 inches of my hair = 4 pounds

Well, not really, but it sure felt like I lost 4 pounds and I know for a fact I lost 4 inches of hair! It doesn't look like much of a difference but to me, it was! Last year, I really wanted to grow my hair out to just one length.  I had not done that since I was a kid.  I last had it cut in April to just below shoulder length to get rid of all the layers and look how much it grew in 10 months:

I loved the way it looked. I really did. But dang, it was just maintenance! I have super thick hair that I always wash at night before I go to bed.  When I had layers it would always be dry in the morning and then I would flat iron it straight or curly in about 30 minutes. With hair one length, I would wake up and my hair would still be wet 8 hours after I washed it! That was so irritating because it was already taking over an hour to straighten or curl, but to have to dry it on top of that.  ugh. I was getting later and later to work because of MY HAIR. How vain is that? It was utterly ridiculous.  The amount of hair that I shed is mind boggling too, but you would never know for how much hair I have.  I could probably make a wig a day. So, despite all the compliments, I had to do something about it...so I went back to layers and cut another 4 inches off. Such a relief! My head actually feels lighter!

The front looks the same. I'm such a dork. But this counts as 'pictures of Mommy', right? Mommies never have enough pictures of themselves because we are always the ones taking them!
