Mother's Day 2012

I had such a nice relaxing Mother's Day doing all the things I like to do. First thing was sleeping in. Allie is still an early riser. I don't know when she'll understand the beauty of sleeping in, but I hope its soon! Ryan is my sleeper... I would love it if Allie woke when he did. Anyway, back to Mother's Day. I slept until about 8:30 am, which is sleeping in for me, I don't really need much more than that.

When I did get up there were presents waiting for me on the kitchen table. I don't ever want to forget how I turned the corner into the kitchen to see both my kids standing on either side of it, holding their little pictures they made for me with their Daddy and yelling "Happy Mother's Day!". I wished I had a camera right then, it was so precious. Allie will be in Kindergarten next year, I cannot WAIT to see what little craft she'll make for me to treasure forever. I always try to make super cute things for my Kindergarteners to take home to their Mama's too.
{These are the thumbprint necklaces the students made for thier Mom's. When they were dry, I painted the girls pink and the boys blue.  I put ribbon on them and the moms wore their child's thumbprint around their neck. Cutest Pinterest idea!}
{Another gift my students made for their mom's on tiles}

For Mother's Day, aside from the 2 pictures my kids made for me, (which I adore!), they also gave me the calorie counting/heart rate watch I really wanted for my Zumba classes. I love the thing to death. Ha! And Jason gave me sheets. Not just any sheets though, sheets he knew I have been eying for a while but was too chicken to buy because of the price. I never feel guilty when he buys things for me that I'm afraid to purchase. Its like getting permission I guess. The sheets were an insanely high thread count and oh so delicious to lay in. I love them! They always have that 'cold' feeling, perfect for summer!
{Yes, that is what my watch read after a Zumba class}

We were supposed to go to a picnic lunch at one of our favorite spots by the little lake by our house. Its an area with a volley ball court, lots of sand and shade. When we got there, however, there was some sort of Indian wedding going on there. Since its a semi public area (for the HOA), it is first come, first serve.  We quickly diverted to getting our swim suits on, picnicking in a grassy spot near our community pool and then spending the rest of the day at the pool.  I didn't take any pictures there but we had a bucket of KFC, pasta salad, fruit, chips, bean dip and chocolate chip cookies. It was so delicious that we popped it out of the ice chest again at dinner time since we were still at the pool. Such a great day :)
