Allie is going to be a BIG SISTER!!!!!
Yup, thats right folks...I am unexpectedly expectant (Im pregnant!). and Im still reeling from the news as Im sure you are right now. I found out on March 8th and its been pretty crazy ever since. I say crazy because I had no idea that I was pregnant for, as it turns out, quite a long time. I didn't have most of the tell tale signs because I was nursing and taking other precautions. So what was the kicker that set this whole thing off (besides the obvious, of course :) )? Well, while I was off track from school I had heartburn like crazy for 4 days straight. At first, I thought it was because had just started drinking pepsi again (I had recently stopped nursing because I thought Allie didn't want to any more, or so I thought, and I didn't drink any pepsi during pregnancy or nursing.). But then I got to thinking that the only other time I've had heartburn in my life was when I was pregnant with Allie....and I had it baaaaaaaaaaad. So I thought, hmmmmmm....lemme just ease my mind and take a test. ha! I remember driving home from Target thinking I had just wasted $13 on a digital test thinking for sure it would be negative. I was wrong. And shocked. When Jason came home I broke the news. He said that was the last thing he expected me to tell him. At first the news wasn't as happy as it is now simply because I had no idea how far along I was and I had had my wisdom teeth pulled out recently. I had so many x rays done for that and had been put out as well. They kept asking me that day if I was positive that I wasn't pregnant and I would say no. Thinking back, I was soooooo worried once I knew I was that I had indeed been pregnant and that now something would be wrong. My worries have since dissapated and the news is nothing but pure joy for us now. So the next day I went to the doctor to have the official blood test and an extra blood test to find out how far based on hormone levels since I had no LMP. A rush was put on all tests considering my situation. I was supposed to wait a week to find out the results but he ended up calling me the next day. He said that based on hormone level I was 7 to 8 weeks along. Ok . Cool. I could deal with that. That also meant I was clear of the whole wisdom teeth surgery thing and that puts my due date somewhere in October.
WRONG!!!!
I went to see my OB, Dr. Yang, a few days later and when he felt my stomach he said, 'Wow, I'd guess you were about 3 1/2 months along."
Your kidding me!!!!????
Floored again! He said that we wouldnt know for sure until the sonogram which he performed about 10 minutes later. My next thought was that my stomach was so big because there were 2 but based on heart beat there was only one. Then the sonogram confirmed that, so whew! The sonogram also showed that I was 15 weeks and 3 days! Shocker again!! He was right....3 1/2 months. He said the baby was big and looked perfect. awwwww! Soooo happy! I think I felt in that moment I could be truley happy. He said I was due September 7th (2 days after my birthday) but because I had a c section with Allie, I would have to have another one. That means they dont want me going out of labor so they will take the baby out 10 days early. That puts us at a planned birthday of August 29th. He tried to see what it was but it was still to early. We actually find out this Wednesday at 3:45 so I will keep you posted. We want another lil girl soooo bad, so my fingers are crossed. The doctor said that my chances of getting pregnant under the circumstances (we couldnt possibly have been more responsible at family planning this time around and it STILL happened!) were 2 in 1000. Crazy, huh? I guess it was meant to be!
Now I am 19 weeks and completly skipped the 1st trimester...no symptoms whatsoever. Lucky me. I just found out and am almost half done!
In other news: Allie is walking like crazy and has 2 pretty new teeth (the top ones now). She blows kisses and can make the 'indian tribal sound' by patting her mouth while her voice goes. She says mama and dada and 'I love you' to the tune of 'ya ya yah'. Its so hard to believe there will soon be 2 and our family will be complete. They'll be 15 1/2 months apart and oh so close. Playmates, argumates, and best friends...
Her baptism is next weekend, I cant wait. Im planning a very nice little party for her afterwards. I love being able to do that in my pretty new home. I'm doing every thing I've ever wanted to do: I'm a teacher, I have a great husband and a wonderful marriage, I have one beautiful daughter and another on the way and I live in a great neighborhood in a beautiful home. I am blessed. What more could a girl ask for?? (to have 2 beautiful daughters, of course! and then I promise, not to ask for anything else.:) )
