So this past weekend, Jason and I caved and went ahead and picked and purchased a nice shade of yellow paint for our mystery baby's room. We kept joking that now that we've bought it we were going to find out what the baby was on my next appointment (which was today, BTW). I have since written off ever finding out and decided to stop getting my hopes up at every appointment. But I did have one last trick up my sleeve. My mom mentioned to our hairdresser (who is also preggo) that we had been trying to find out whether I was having a boy or girl but the baby wasn't cooperating. She said to drink red punch. Why? I guess the sugar makes the baby move a lot, hopefully into a better position to view the goods! So I drank tropical punch all day long. I almost drank the whole thing! And off I went to the doctor....
So the doctor walks in and says that we'll try again but his thought was that we were gonna keep getting the same results. *Sigh* Try number 6, here goes nuthin'! I tell him that we were kinda hopin' since we already bought yellow paint that karma would get us back and let us know what we were having...and it did! As soon as he placed the wand on my belly he said, "Oh! Now that's a boy!" (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Finally!!! We now know we will be welcoming a son...I don't know what did it, the juice or the paint but CAN I GET AN AMEN??!! That suspense was driving me, seriously, bonkers! This time it was so obvious that he was a boy... no doubt. I have 2 pictures that show very plainly his boy parts. Now I get to go SHOPPING! WOOT!
As for his name....we chose Jacob at first but changed it not too far into my pregnancy( We had a name picked out for either gender). So his name will be Ryan Ross Schafer. My lil Ryan...awwww. I can't wait to meet him. He has his father's and grandfather's middle name so it's to honor them both (Jason's dad passed when he was a little boy) and it's almost like his sister's middle name: Rose (which is also my middle name, hehe... so many cute "family ties"). That's it... I can go on with my peaceful existence now. lol.
