A Brand New Look!

A few weeks ago, we painted our blah white dining room va-va-vroom merlot! I have been wanting this for so long, but it's one project at a time. First was Allie's room, then was Ryan's. Anyways, we set up our house different than it was originally intended by the builder or the previous owners, I guess. I thought it was a weird set up to begin with...
Let me lay it all out for ya:

When you enter the house there are 2 very large rooms that are intended to be 4 small rooms; living, dining, kitchen, and family room. In that order. The first room (the room you enter the house in) is the living / dining room. Tell me on what planet do those 2 rooms go together? There was a low hanging chandelier on the oneside of the living room that I loathed. Soooo, it took us a while but I had Jason remove it and we put just a regular ceiling light on it. I orginally wanted a ceiling fan but when we tried to install it, we found we couldn't. Long story. So now that room is just a very large living room. We call it the Great Room. lol.
Then you enter the kitchen/family room. In which the combination made me wanna hurl as well. Now that I was out a dining room, I decided to veto the family room (I've got a giant living room anyway) and make it the dining room. The problem was that the old family room had a ceiling fan and no light on it. Who does that?
Well, I said as soon as we get a light fixture for that ceiling fan that I like, then we paint. The color was my husby's idea actually. I'm so proud of him! At first we were going to paint just one accent wall, buuuuut I decided the night before that I just knew I would want 2 walls painted and Jason would end up painting 2 walls for me either now or later. I choose the 2 walls that had windows and left all the others white. I'm in love with it! Here are some pictures. I forgot to get one when it was plain white, and I remembered half way through the primer stage. So that's why there is a picture with grays on the walls. It's the best before pic I could give you considering my incompetence. :)

and P.S.
ignore the mess in both the pictures. The first one because, well, HELLO, we were painting and second was when he had just put the window coverings back up (and non of the decor, I'm slowly gathering that) and Jasons tools are lying around. Yes, I know we have a playset in our dining room, but that's only temporary. At least that's what I keep telling myself....

Let me know what you think...even as far as decor and accents...
