We were driving around this morning at around 10 AM. I couldn't get Ryan down for a nap and knew he needed one and since he falls asleep in the car as soon as it starts, we decided we better go that route.
We stopped for gas.
Me: Do you realize that since you've been off track, we have used this car for the sole purpose of putting the kids down for a nap?
Jason: Your right. It's the only way they'd nap though.
Me: So that entire tank of gas we just used was just to drive around...not going anywhere. We payed over 30 bucks to have our kids take a nap.
Jason: I'd pay 30 bucks every 2 weeks just so they'd take a nap. It's so worth it.
Me: Psssh. I'd pay more. But don't tell the people who make up the gas prices. Does that make us lame?
Jason: I don't know. Probably.
Does anyone else do this? Because seriously, Ryan will rarely nap without a ride in the car.
And Allie? She MUST fall asleep in the car. During the day, she won't have it any other way.
and after that car ride, Ryan has now been asleep 2 hours and 10 minutes as I type this...

I don't have a child, but I happen to know for a fact that other people get their kids to sleep this way! You're conversation with J was hilarious :)
ok...so this is going to be just plain mean and hurtful, but i must share. to get noah to take a nap, i turn on his radio, turn out his light, give him a bottle and close the door. that's it! he's been that way since he was little. he just goes to sleep. same thing for nighttime. don't ask how i got so lucky, and i know, i've probably just jinxed myself!
