Project Life - 1st page

November 15, 2010

Im starting my book in November. Dont judge. :)

I only choose 3 of these pictures for my Project Life album, but I figured I'd use this outlet to show all of the pictures from that album. Then I would always have them showcased 2 ways :)

This was a Sunday afternoon where we asked Jason's brother to take some shots with his 'much cooler' camera for our Christmas card. While he did take the winning shot that was chosen for the card, I think I took some 'project life' type pictures with my 'not as cool, but still cool to me' camera.
We live in an HOA which has a lot of beautiful trails, pools, play areas, tennis courts, etc... There is one particular area I have always wanted to get family pictures done. (and someday, I will splurge and do it for real) There is an old wooden bridge over a creek in a wooded area. It is a beyond beautiful natural reserve of sorts with gated access:) It looks even more beautiful when the leaves turn yellow and start to fall. Unfortunately, the day we went to take pictures there, our photographer in tow, so did everyone else! I swear all the good people of Highland were having their pictures done that day. So much for getting an early start on Christmas cards! ha!
Because of the crowdedness and even more because we were embaressed, we chose a new spot, further up the trail that leads to the lake. This area is a huge, green grassy area with big rocks scattered here and there. Also it is where the orange groves are, one the few groves still left in Highland, a place that used to be part of the huge orange boom industry some years back. After the winning photo was taken within the first 3 pictures (Everyone is looking, smiling? I'll take it!) we let the kids play in the groves. This is where I got these cute pictures...and later had some fun editing a few of them. It was a bright day, so some of the faces were over exposed, but I think it adds character to the pictures...and memories :)
